Practice on raffal (Sheep wool) preparing, paper mache work on shawls

Objective: At the end of this exercise you shall be able to
• make a embroidery in the shawl with paper mache design.

Requirements

Materials
• Raffal shawl - as reqd. • Needle - 1 No.
• Thread of different colors - as reqd. • Thimble - 1 No.

PROCEDURE

TASK 1: Practice embroidery on raffal shawl by paper mache work

1 Get the raffal shawl, block printed of paper mache Fig 2
design from the market as shown in Fig 1.

2 Choose the threads for embroidery for the given
embroidery design

3 Start doing primary work (outline) with single color
thread back stitch Fig 3
4 Than start doing secondary work that is filling of
flowers satin stitch. (Fig 2)
5 Complete the design with satin stitch (refer exercise
1.2.08) Fig 3.
